World Geography Test Bank |
13-digit ISBN: 978-0-9835171-5-3 Although the State of Texas has decided to discontinue its World Geography End-of-Course STAAR Test, many students in Texas will continue to take courses in World Geography. Moreover, all high school students will eventually have to pass the U.S. History End-of-Course STAAR Test. Can your district afford to have its students wait until 11th Grade before they become familiar with the format of STAAR-type social studies questions? Our World Geography Test Bank is designed to help you meet the need for high-quality, STAAR-type items in World Geography. Our “Second Edition” of the World Geography Test Bank currently has 314 questions and is accompanied by a supplement of 126 questions—making 430 in all. We anticipate that the World Geography Test Bank will eventually include approximately 600 questions, with three or more STAAR-type questions for each TEKS. The final edition will also include an accompanying MS version and a rating of question difficulty by Mr. Tom Wurst, former geography specialist at ESC Region 4. Any purchases of this “Second Edition” will naturally include all later editions, updates and revisions. The test bank is organized to follow the TEKS. Each TEKS, found in a gray box at the top of the page, begins a new section. Each TEKS appears in order and each new TEKS begins on a separate page. (The TEKS appear in the same order as in the Texas Standards, and not as they appear in the TEA’s Assessed Curriculum booklet.) The questions run the gamut from easy to challenging –– both in content and cognitive complexity. They also cover all of the performance level descriptors from Level I to Level III (“Advance Academic Performance”). Each question is designed to test student mastery of a specific TEKS. These questions are different from those in Mastering the TEKS in World Geography, so they will provide you with a true snapshot of what your students know for diagnostic purposes. Most important of all, you will find maps, documentary excerpts, photographs, and diagrams as part of many questions –– just like those on the STAAR End-of-Course Test they will later take in U.S. History. Use of these items is licensed by us to your district in perpetuity, but only within your district. We will ask you to sign a licensing agreement to this effect. Your district is buying the use of these items not just for this year, but also for every year in the future. This test bank is sold on a district basis only. Pricing is based on the most recent TEA “Snapshot” of your district’s total student population, which is available at this link: https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfreport/snapshot/2016/district.srch.html Please bear in mind that this is based on your district’s total population size, not just its Grade 9 population or enrollment in World Geography.
