United States History Since 1877 Test Bank

13-digit ISBN: 978-0-9835171-4-6
(10-digit ISBN: 0-9835171-4-2)

This year, high school students will be required to pass the STAAR End-of-Course Test in United States History Since 1877.  Our U.S. Test Bank is designed to help you meet the need for high-quality, STAAR-type items based on the TEKS for United States History since 1877.

Our U.S. History Test Bank Since 1877 currently has 526 questions and a supplement of 281 questions, making 807 questions in all. We have kept the new questions separate from the first 526 assessment items for the convenience of existing users.  The supplement focuses on many of those TEKS that were previously missing questions: TEKS 11 (recent history)  and TEKS 15 to 25 (geography, economics, government, citizenship and culture) Moreover, we are still writing additional questions for this test bank. The U.S. History Test Bank Since 1877 should eventually have more than 900 questions, which we will then be merged into a single document.  We will also eventually have the same test item classification, dual coding, MS Word version, and bookmarking capability that we now have for the Grade 8 Test Bank.

Any purchases of this “Second Edition” will naturally include all later editions, updates and revisions.

The test bank is organized to follow the TEKS. Each TEKS, found in a gray box at the top of the page, begins a new section. The questions run the gamut from easy to challenging –– both in content and cognitive complexity. They also cover all of the performance level descriptors from Level I to Level III (“Advance Academic Performance”). Each TEKS appears in order and each new TEKS begins on a separate page. (The TEKS appear in the same order as in the Texas Standards, and not as they appear in the TEA’s Assessed Curriculum booklet.)

Each question is designed to test student mastery of a specific TEKS. These questions are different from those found in Mastering the TEKS in United States History Since 1877. They can provide you with a true snapshot of both what your students already know and what they still need to know for diagnostic purposes.  They can also give your students valuable practice in answering questions they have not seen before, in order to help them to prepare for the STAAR End-of-Course Test.

Perhaps most important of all, you will find maps, documentary excerpts, photographs, and diagrams are included as part of many questions –– just like those on the actual STAAR End-of-Course Test.

Use of these items is licensed by us to your district in perpetuity, but only for use within your district. You are not permitted to share these items outside your district. We will ask you to sign a licensing agreement to this effect.

Remember that your district is buying the use of these items not just for this year, but also for every year in the future!

This test bank is sold on a district basis only. The price of the test bank is based on the most recent TEA “Snapshot” of your district’s population, which is available at this link:

Please bear in mind that this is based on your district’s total population size, not just its Grade 11 population or enrollment in U.S. History.
