Grade 7 Texas History Mini-Test Bank

13-digit ISBN: 978-0-9835171-6-0
10-digit ISBN: 0-9835171-6-9)

The Grade 7 Texas History Mini-Test Bank has 685 questions, providing middle- school students with the practice they need in answering questions in the STAAR format. They will also ensure a rigorous teaching of Texas history and save your teachers time in designing their own test questions.

The questions in our mini-test bank assess an understanding of Texas history from earliest times to the present and covers these topics: Natural Texas and its people; the “Age of Contact”; Spanish Colonial Texas; Mexican National Texas; the Texas Revolution and the Texas Republic; early statehood; Texas in the Civil War and Reconstruction; cotton, cattle, and railroads; the “Age of Oil”; Texas in the Great Depression and World War II; the Civil Rights Movement and modern conservatism in Texas; and Contemporary Texas. The focus of these questions is on key individuals, events, and issues and their impact.

Just like our other test banks, our Texas History mini-test bank is organized to follow the TEKS. Each TEKS, found in a gray box at the top of a page, begins a new section. There are at least three or more STAAR-type questions for each TEKS.

The questions in the test bank run the gamut from easy to challenging –– both in content and cognitive complexity. They cover all of the performance level descriptors from Level I to Level III (“Advance Academic Performance”). Each question is designed to test student mastery of a specific TEKS.

Most important of all, you will find maps, documentary excerpts, photographs, and diagrams as part of many questions –– just like those on the actual STAAR.

Dr. Rosemary Morrow, former Director of Social Studies at the TEA, has once again been kind enough to classify our questions as easy, average or challenging.

The Grade 7 Texas History Mini-Test Bank is simply the best value you can buy to help prepare your seventh graders for the STAAR test that they will take in eighth grade.  We will license your district to use the test bank items in perpetuity, and unlike printed materials, these questions will never age or have to be repurchased.

Use of our test bank items is licensed to your district in perpetuity, but only within your district. We ask all purchasers to sign a licensing agreement to this effect. Your district is buying the use of these items not just for this year, but also for every year in the future.

The Grade 7 Texas History Mini-Test Bank is sold on a district basis only. Pricing is based on the most recent TEA “Snapshot” of your district’s total student population, which is available at this link:

https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfreport/snapshot/2016/district.srch.html

Please bear in mind that this is based on your district’s total student population size, not just its Grade 7 population.
